Upsets continue to throw monkey wrenches into the stability of the Comprank system, but there are some patterns beginning to form up. First off, LSU continues to be #1, although their reign on that spot is jeopardized mostly due to the erratic play of their previous opponents, and will continued to be challenged by their remaining schedule which is much softer than the games they've already played. After that, we see Arizona State making great strides towards a Pac-10 championship and (assuming the east coast bias doesn't knock them out) possibly a berth in the BCS title game. They're playing some great ball right now and are feeding off new head coach Dennis Erickson's experience. Kansas continues to impress, going down to Aggieland and placing a thumping on Texas A&M, which also further heats up the hot seat upon which embattled TAMU coach Dennis Franchione sits. Oregon and Ohio State also have resounding victories, but drop in the system dues to the aforementioned foibles of previous opponents. Making strides upwards are a resurgent West Viriginia squad, a BC team that came back from nowhere to knock off Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, and of course Georgia, who brings the entire team out to help celebrate their re-entry into the Top 10 here. Clemson, Colorado, Tennessee, and Boise State all re-enter the Top 25 this week with their big wins. Falling off this week are Florida, whose chances for a repeat trip to the BCS title game chances pretty much blipped out of existence, Virginia, South Carolina, Kentucky, UCLA...well, um pretty much anyone from the southern states who were previously in contention for a BCS bid. All are now squarely behind the 8-ball.
