The upsets keep on coming, with Oregon and Oklahoma the most recent Top 5 casualties, both for the second time this season. In fact, you've got to be breathing a sigh of relief if you're a Buckeye fan, because they're the only team guaranteed not to drop out of the Top 5 now after finishing the regular season with a win at Michigan. But the shocker is that we have a new #1 in the Comprank system. West Virginia takes over the top spot after playing and escaping against a good Cincy team, while LSU won against lowly Ole Miss and dropped a spot as a result. In fact, unless some more craziness happens, I'm not sure WVU drops from #1 at this point. Ohio State jumps up to #3 with their Big 10 clinching victory today, and all of a sudden, a repeat trip to the BCS title game isn't out of the cards yet. At a minimum, they're off to the Rose Bowl, but given the way this season's been going, it's still possible for them to rise into the game by attrition, as they have no more games left to play, while the rest of the BCS Top 5 have 1-2 games each left to play. It's possible that OSU could back in to a trip to New Orleans instead of Pasadena. Crazy year folks!
