Updated on Sunday evening due to missing games from late Saturday. -- Jeff Alabama stays on top after their close game vs. Kentucky, while Missouri and USC come storming back into the top 10 with their big wins vs. Nebraska and Oregon, respectively. Ohio State also makes a big jump up to #11 with their comeback win at Wisconsin, while Utah falls out of the top 10 after a near miss vs. Oregon State. Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Pitt, Texas Tech, and Cincinnati all make their debuts into the top 25 with their big wins this week. Overall, I like how the ratings are beginning to shape up. I'm still a little uncertain regarding Vanderbilt and Wake Forest's high rating, but time will tell there, and it's probably only because they're in unfamiliar territory. I'm still at a loss to understand the media's fascination with BYU, and the ratings back up my theory. BYU's opposition has been truly awful, but they're the media darlings and I see shades of the 1984 team in play. FYI -- that would be the team that didn't play a single ranked opponent the entire year, but was awarded the Mythical National Championship (MNC) that year anyway. No worries, they're still going to have to face TCU, Air Force, and the finale against Utah, all on the road. If they can get through those games, then I'll start believing, but given who they've played, I still can't see them as a Top 25 team right now, let alone the Top 10 team that the polls have them at. BTW, if anyone has any free tickets and airfare to Dallas for next Saturday, drop me a line -- the Red River game between Oklahoma and Texas is going to be a great one!
